On April 1st and 2nd, 2025, Air Force Weather hosted the inaugural Industry Days in Maine with support from the University of Maine and Roux Institute. The event hosted over 120 government, industry, and academia attendees virtually spanning a wide range of science and technology fields from across the U.S. and Maine.

This 2-day event kicked off with AF Weather senior leaders detailing major mission areas, illustrating requirements and contracting processes, and pinpointing specific focus areas requiring future industry and academic support. On day 2, the AF Weather enterprise had the opportunity to learn from attending entities, discovering new skills and technology available within universities and industries.

AF Weather enjoyed highly positive feedback from attendees. “It was great - I had no familiarity with AF Weather before this event and found it incredibly relevant to the work of my small business.” The AF/A3WR team now looks forward to future iterations with hopes of enjoying an in-person event to facilitate more immersive briefings and networking while bolstering the defense industrial base, a focus of the Secretary of Defense.
